Born in Lyon, Anaïk Morel is a graduate of the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique of her native city and a laureate of the Queen Elisabeth International Competition in 2011.
A troupe member at the Bayerische Staatsoper from 2008 to 2010, she has since performed at the Opéra National de Paris, the Opéra de Lyon, the Capitole de Toulouse, the Berlin Staatsoper, the Opernhaus in Zurich, the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, the Salzburg Festival, La Scala in Milan, and the Teatro Petruzzelli in Bari...
She made her debut in the role of Carmen at the Stuttgart Staatsoper, which she reprised in Zurich, Montpellier, Cologne and for her debut at London's Royal Opera House. The mezzo-soprano also sang the roles of Preziosilla (La Forza del destino) in Basel, Fenena (Nabucco) in Munich, Charlotte (Werther) in Klagenfurt, Strasbourg, Nice and Zurich, Dido (Dido and Aeneas) in Aix-en-Provence, among other performances, as well as Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni) in Hanover, Hänsel (Hänsel und Gretel) in Strasbourg, La Nourrice (Ariane et Barbe-Bleue by Dukas) in Lyon and Nancy...
Jamal Moqadem was born in Marrakesh in 1980. After studying piano and percussion at the Montepellier Rueil Malmaison Conservatoire and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama (London), Jamal Moqadem obtained two Masters degrees in accompaniment and chamber music at the Lyon Conservatoire. At the same time, he studied Lieder at the Brussels Royal Conservatoire and jazz piano. Jamal perfected his piano training with Denis Pascal. He then specialised in melodies and Lieder. In 2007, he joined the Lyon Conservatoire as an accompaniment teacher. An Adami Talent and winner of the Enschede international competition (Netherlands), he has taken part in the Présences festival at Radio France, the flâneries musicales in Reims and the Sylvanès festival, and is a regular guest at the Lyon opera and the Bolshoi theatre as a vocal conductor. Jamal Moqadem is currently a vocal coach (class of Clémence Tilquin and Maria Diaconu) and pianist in the conducting class (Laurent Gay) at the HEM in Geneva.
