How to reach our region ?

By car

Via the A9 motorway :

Also known as the « autoroute du Rhône » leaves at the exit for Sierre-Ouest (exit 28) or Sierre-Est (exit 29).

Via passes open all the year round :

Col de la Forclaz, Pas de Morgins, Simplon Pass or the Great St Bernard Tunnel. 

Via passes open only in the summer:

Grimsel Pass, Furka pass, Nufenen Pass or the Great St Bernard Pass. For information visit www.tcs.ch or call 0900 57 1234 (CHF 0.86/min) 

Via rail tunnels for motorail services  :

Lötschberg (Goppenstein-Kandersteg), Furka (Oberwald- Realp) or Simplon (Brig-Iselle).

By train

From within Switzerland :

Direct connections from all major towns.

From outside Switzerland :

Direct connections to the European rail network.

By air

Flights from the following airports :

  • Basel-Mulhouse, Berne-Belp, Geneva-Cointrin, Milano-Malpensa and Zurich-Kloten. 
  • Charter and private flights from Sion airport.

Transport service in the region : 

Bike hire - Valaisroule in Chippis :

  • City bikes, MTBs and e-MTBs are available to hire from the Valaisroule/Wallisrollt station in Chippis until 27 October 2019. For more information, visit  : Valaisroule

Car rental in our region :

Several partners from Sierre, Salgesch and the surrounding area offer practical solutions for hiring vehicules (cars, 4x4s or utility vehicules). For further information see :

  • Car sharing - collaborative transport solution
  • 2EM offers an alternative mobility solution : car sharing. This is a vehicule rental service from individual to individual. This new concept proposes the sharing of ressources and associated user fees between several people. THis approach is at the same time responsible, economic and ecological and is part of a concept of sustainable mobility.
