The Wine Museum looks back over the history of this exceptional mountain wine-producing culture, inspired by tradition and passion.
Located in the heart of Valais, the Wine Museum has two sites:
-
a centre for temporary exhibitions immediately adjacent to the Château de Villa in Sierre
-
a permanent exhibition at the centre in the Maison Zumofen in Salgesch. Fully renovated in 2015, this centre brings all aspects of the Valais wine-producing tradition to life in a fascinating display. Come and find out all about this exceptional heritage, the expertise of the wine growers, the role of the soil and growing conditions, the grape harvest seasons, the secrets of the cellars, the etiquette surrounding drinking, the imagery of wine and the art of tasting. With its hands-on displays and scientific lighting, the exhibition will be enjoyed by both connoisseurs and those who simply want to find out more about the region.

The Wine Trail links the two sites, crossing a vine-clad landscape and revealing the beauty and working life of the vineyards in all seasons.
The Wine Museum offers various events and activities throughout the year. It also stages temporary exhibitions and offers guided tours in French, German and English.
