Château de Muzot

The home of the poet Rainer Maria Rilke from 1921 to 1926, the Château de Muzot is a private building surrounded by mystery and symbolism.

Carefully-sited among vineyards and orchards, the Château de Muzot dates from the 13th century.

Rainer Maria Rilke spent the last five years of his life here, and produced various works, including the collection of poems “Vergers” (“Orchards”) and the famous “Quatrains valaisans”.
