Erhard has always been committed to upholding tradition whilst also embracing new experiences.
In 1992, he left the family estate in Salquenen to realise his dream in Switzerland’s wine capital, taking over the ‘Cave Vieux Villa’ in Sierre, dating from 1867, together with his wife.
The century-old barrels in the vaulted cellar are the jewels of the business. Even today, the red wines are aged for over 12 months in these oak casks.
Since 2016, his son Tobias has been making the wines and, together with Claudia Schönenberger, running the business, continuing the artisanal tradition with creativity and innovation.
Tobias has also been making wines in Spain for the past few years. He blends the two cultures and also offers Spanish wines on his order list.
