The Orchestre Valaisan Amateur is back on stage at Théâtre Les Halles with its new creation: Parade!
The Orchestre Valaisan Amateur is back at the Théâtre Les Halles for its latest creation: Parade! For this concert-show, the OVA tells you everything you need to know about the Boléro... with a few detours. And in this deluge of ballet music, the orchestra comes to life.
Between music and theatre, the Orchestre Valaisan Amateur (OVA) immerses itself in a universe dotted with ballet music. This music explains "everything you wanted to know about the Boléro". The Boléro: a work, a myth, a musical legend. But what if the orchestra didn't want to play your Boléro? What if it wanted you to discover other worlds? Instead of foolishly consuming this well-known and reassuring piece, let yourself be disturbed and get out of the daily torpor. Because, as Cocteau said, "Beware! Boredom awaits! You've fallen asleep without realising it! Wake up! Everyone does the play they listen to. Come and see one of your own plays". In the twists and turns that led to Ravel, there was first a seed of Erik Satie. This hatches into Parade, and for the duration of a piece, the most zany objects come alive with music as veritable acrobats, clowns or conjurers. From the laughing spirit of Satie, a new turn leads straight to Prokofiev's star-crossed lovers Romeo and Juliet. Because you can't tell a good story without a good love story. Then, in a final jolt... THE Bolero. Between music and theatre, the orchestra tells you ITS Bolero and comes to life.
