Odayaka is a jazz and instrumental folk string group born from the collaboration between jazz violinist Victor Darmon and guitarist Adam Naylor.
In 2016, the group expanded into a quintet in Lausanne (Switzerland) and produced dynamic compositions where interaction and improvisation take center stage. They worked in the studio to release their first album, "Still humans," which includes eclectic compositions. Influences from jazz artists (Avishai Cohen) as well as Malagasy artists (D'Gary) can be heard. Today, the group is heading in a new artistic direction and is back in the studio to create the new EP "Wood 'n' roll" inspired by rock bands (Radiohead). Odayaka discovered the folk group "Punch Brothers," whose music inspired Garden Party, among others. The group ranges from a trio to a quintet and mainly performs on jazz and contemporary music stages. Odayaka received the Coup de Cœur award from the city of Geneva for the 2020 Music Festival.
