Introduction to role-playing as part of BiblioWeekend24
Tabletop role-playing games, also known as JDRs, bring together 2 to 5 people around a table. Each person plays a character and talks and acts like him or her. The Game Master (GM) guides the story, describes the imaginary world and plays the other characters. Players experience a variety of adventures, from fantasy to science fiction.
No previous experience is necessary for the players, but the GM acts as a director, creating the story around the players' ideas. The aim is to have fun and immerse yourself in an imaginative world, with the GM taking care of the rules and the atmosphere of the group.
