Transhumance

A flock of 400 sheep stops in Sierre !

As part of the historic Transhumance Festival, a flock of 400 sheep from the Naye sheepfold will descend from Mollens and make its way to Vercorin.

During the morning, the flock will pass through Sierre and stop for around an hour (at approximately 8.00 am).

🐑 Route through Sierre :

- Muraz – Foyer St-Joseph – Rue du Bourg – Rue de Sous-Géronde (opposite Enseignex) – Technopôle – Chippis Bridge at around 9.00 am ... then up to Vercorin.
- Route timetable (approximate, depending on the sheep’s progress):
- 6.00 am: Departure from Mollens
- Between 7.15 am and 8.00 am: Arrival in Sierre – The flock will rest on the land opposite Constellium and Novelis (Casa Rosa car park towards Enseignex).
- Around 9.00 am: Resume the journey, heading up to Vercorin (towards Technopole, Chippis bridge)

The Transhumance Festival will take place all day in Vercorin, where you’ll find food and drink stalls, entertainment, sheep shearing demonstrations, music, wool spinning, and more.

⚠️ For the welfare of the sheep and to ensure the event runs smoothly, we kindly ask you not to bring your dogs, not to stroke the animals, and not to walk through the flock.
