With Quiet Light, Cindy Van Acker pays tribute to the enigmatic world of painter Léon Spilliaert. Performed by two dancers, the piece explores the contrasts between light and shadow in a fascinating choreography reminiscent of a visual mirage.
Quiet Light is an atmospheric and hypnotic creation, directly inspired by the aesthetic of Flemish painter Léon Spilliaert. Cindy Van Acker translates the depth of the blacks and the misty textures of his paintings into movement. Dancers Stéphanie Bayle and Daniela Zaghini inhabit the stage in a ballet of appearances and disappearances, where scale, optical illusions and superimpositions create a disturbing and poetic visual experience. A choreographic tribute to painting, where every gesture becomes a stroke of light.
