These three internationally renowned artists come together for a rare concert programme dedicated to the work of Brazilian composer Egberto Gismonti. This repertoire pays tribute to his musical world. It draws on contemporary improvisational approaches and highlights themes developed throughout the composer’s long career over the past half-century.
The rarity of such a repertoire being performed in concert is largely due to the lack of published scores. The work, deeply rooted in Brazilian folklore, navigates between classical music and jazz. It is distinguished by the complexity of its structure, as well as by its technical demands and modes of interpretation.
