Charles-André Gaudard continues his exploration of materiality and horizontality. The oil paint is applied in thick layers, sculpted, hollowed out and layered until it becomes a veritable pictorial architecture. The shades of black, punctuated by subtle mineral glints, evoke the passage of time, the memory of landscapes and the invisible forces that shape nature.

The work does not depict a place: it suggests an inner landscape where matter becomes emotion.
