The landscape of Sierre has been shaped by the hills resulting from the great Finges landslide. Between these natural promontories wind small natural wonders: Géronde, the large lake, prized by the entire population of the region and many visitors for its freshness and leisure activities, and the two Petits Lacs, charming natural biotopes surrounded by vineyards and greenery.
OUR ADVICE
Don't miss, besides the magnificent view from the Planzette hill, the numerous recreational activities offered around Lake Géronde.
| Turn-by-turn directions | From the Tourist Office, head towards the station and take the underpass to reach Plaine Bellevue, a large square hosting several Sierre events. Circle the square until the roundabout of the Pines, then head towards the Planzette hill. After a short climb, you will enjoy a breathtaking view of Lake Géronde and the hill of the same name, which hosts a Bernardine monastery. Then you need to reach the lake and go around it from the south. Once at the end of the lake, continue through the vineyards and then join the road that climbs to Goubing. The route passes between school buildings and then turns left towards the Petits Lacs. Finally, return to the roundabout of the Pines and then back to the Tourist Office via the same route as on the way out. |
