The four Bisses of the sun

This long hike, except for the initial climb, is almost "flat" as it follows the path of 4 bisses. The paths are well maintained and passable much earlier in the season than higher altitude bisses, generally from Easter to the end of October.
The first climb leads to the Bisse du Sillonin up to Flanthey, then you ascend to the Grand-Bisse de Lens which used to supply water from the Lienne to the meadows and vineyards of the slope. The Chemin des Contrées, which connects Diogne to Saint-Maurice-de-Laques, passes through grand and arid landscapes. Finally, the two bisses of the Raspille, the Bisse-Neuf (Bénou) and the Bisse de Varen offer magical views of the Noble-Contrée, the vineyards of Salquenen, and the Finges Forest.

OUR ADVICE
Throughout this hike, you can enjoy the most beautiful views over the plain and authentic, preserved natural spots.

Turn-by-turn directions

From the Saint-Léonard CFF station, cross the village then climb into the vineyard via the Planisses towards the Bisse du Sillonin. Follow the bisse eastwards to Chelin. Climb towards Lens up to the intersection with the Grand Bisse de Lens, then take it eastwards to Chermignon-d'en-bas. After the football field, cross the cantonal road towards Diogne then take the Chemin des Contrées almost up to Saint-Maurice-de-Laques. Just before the bridge over the funicular, descend towards Darnona, then turn left towards Venthône. Join Rétana and the beginning of the Bisse-Neuf (Bénou). Take the bisse to the Raspille, cross the torrent then climb to the start of the Bisse de Varen (Varone). Follow the bisse to the intersection for Salgesch (Salquenen) then descend first into the forest and then through the vineyard to Salgesch. Cross the village and reach the CFF station.
