Morning: a gentle start in the heart of the city

Town Hall Square

1. Coffee in the Town Hall Square

Take a seat on the terrace for a coffee in the heart of Sierre, with a direct view of the Château des Vidômes, the only colourful castle in French-speaking Switzerland. The Place de l’Hôtel de Ville, with its fountains and surrounding cafés, is the perfect spot to soak up the atmosphere of Sierre, enjoy breakfast and get the day off to a good start!

2. A stroll through the neighbourhoods and a visit to the Maison du Remuage

Just a stone’s throw away, discover the Maison du Remuage, dating from 1726, an iconic site in Sierre’s history. Do remember to contact the Sierre Tourist Office before your visit, as the Maison du Remuage is open by appointment only. Continue your stroll through this charming old quarter, with its quiet alleyways and traditional houses. An authentic escape, perfect for exploring on foot or by bike.

Midday and afternoon: nature and a water source

3. Heading towards Géronde, the city’s green lung

In Géronde, it’s all about nature. Leave the hustle and bustle of the town behind to enjoy the lake and its facilities: pedalos, swimming pools, slides, play areas… or simply to have a nap by the water’s edge. It’s the perfect place to unwind and simply enjoy yourself.

When it comes to dining, try the Italian specialities at Bella Italia or take a seat at La Grotte restaurant, which offers breathtaking views of the lake.

The waterside Buvette is the perfect spot for a more relaxed break, with a simple yet delicious menu. In summer, the atmosphere comes alive with concerts on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays – the perfect way to extend your day by the water in a friendly atmosphere.

Late afternoon and evening: flavours and local specialities

4. Discovering the Sierrois region

You can’t leave the Cité du Soleil without doing justice to its reputation: here, wine is a veritable institution. To round off the day, go and meet the local winemakers.

Whether you pop into the Cave des Bernunes, the Domaine de Daval or Mathier Erhard, enjoy a friendly wine tasting, often accompanied by a few local specialities to nibble on, just a stone’s throw from the vineyards.
For a more comprehensive experience, the Château de Villa welcomes you to its wine bar: a series of tastings, accompanied by a raclette, to discover the full richness of Valais’ grape varieties.

Petite Arvine, Cornalin, Fendant… a wonderful way to savour the wine treasures of Valais and round off the day on a gourmet, local note.
