Discovery concert at the Fondation Opale
Embark on a unique musical journey to the sounds of dub and calypso with the Suns Of Dub label and collective, from the islands of Trinidad & Tobago. Led by Ras Jammy, the group has been bringing together musicians, singers and DJs since 2010. Accompanied by the talented singer and musician Jah Bami, Ras Jammy also has a few surprises in store for us with special guests during this stopover in Lens.
The programme kicks off at 4pm with a privileged moment with the artists in an intimate setting. After an introduction to the traditional music of Trinidad & Tobago, watch a demonstration of the Steel Pan, an emblematic instrument, and learn about the island's traditional music in a discovery workshop.
From 5pm, the atmosphere will be stepped up a notch with a concert in our foyer area, where you can enjoy a drink and move to the sound of the Steel Pan and DJ sets.
Don't forget to book your table at the restaurant if you want to share a meal at L'Opale!
Don't forget to visit the HIGH FIVE! exhibition before the art centre closes (6pm).
