Kathryn Menghetti

The exhibition "Aquarelles botaniques" by the artist Kathryn Menghetti can be seen at the Atelier-Galerie CONTRASTE.

Originally from the north of England, Kathrin Menghetti has lived in Switzerland for several years,
and now lives in the mountains, in the magnificent Val d'Anniviers.

As soon as she arrived in the Valais, she was inspired by the wild landscapes, the colours and the lights and shadows dancing on the high peaks.
She also loves looking at the ground at her feet and has spent many hours drawing and studying the local flora.

Pencils, sketchbooks and a camera have also accompanied her on trips to faraway places. She spent some time working and travelling in Asia. Her travels and adventures to the other side of the world continue - she still loves to get away and explore new places!

As soon as she returned to Europe, Geneva became the city where her children were born and she continued to work in a primary school. She also took part in various fairs and exhibitions with her drawings and watercolours.

Most of her images are created in watercolour and pencil - drawing is essential in all her work. She sketches outside, landscapes or plants, using photos and a bit of her imagination!

This exhibition focuses on the flowers she has enjoyed drawing and painting - both here and elsewhere.
