In its new exhibition, the Musée du Vin showcases the richness of the Valais vineyards and compares them with other wine-growing regions around the world.
Valais, Switzerland's largest wine-growing canton, is insignificant on a global scale: it accounts for 0.06% of the world's wine-growing area and produces 0.15% of the world's wine. Yet Valais winegrowing stands out thanks to its many records and unique characteristics. What are these special features? Are they found in other vineyards around the world? How is this wine heritage promoted, here and there?
Altitude, slope, winemaking methods... The Musée du Vin's new exhibition uses twelve themes to compare the Valais with other wine-producing regions around the world. It's an immersive, interactive journey to discover some surprising and inventive vineyards.
