This popular Portuguese-inspired festival celebrates conviviality around roasted chestnuts and jeropiga. The event invites visitors to discover Portuguese, Swiss and Cape Verdean cultures through music, traditions and warm exchanges.
The Sao Martinho festival, known as Magusto, is an unmissable autumn event in Portugal. Families and friends gather around a bonfire to roast chestnuts, drink jeropiga (a sweet drink made from grape must) and sing along to regional traditions.
In Sierre, this warm celebration is coming to life for a second year, organised by the town's Integration Service. Much more than just a festival, Magusto in Sierre is a meeting place for the Portuguese, Cape Verdean and Swiss communities. Each culture shares its Saint Martin's Day rituals, music and stories... An invitation to travel, discover and make friends.
On the programme: concert, chestnut tasting, apple juice and jeropiga.
