Le Clou rouge

Martigny

Guided walk through the historic districts of Sierre, from the Old Town to Muraz, followed by an aperitif.

This guided walk takes participants through the iconic districts of Sierre, from the patrician houses of the Old Town to Muraz, via Glarey, Borzuat and Tservetta. The route highlights local history, notably the coexistence of languages, the evolution of urban spaces and the region’s unique tradition of wine racking. The tour concludes with an aperitif, with the option to extend the experience by exploring the Villa district and enjoying a meal (booking required). The tour is led by Muriel Borgeat-Theler, historian and committee member of the Valais romand section.

At midday, Le Clou Rouge invites the public to take a fresh look at the square in front of the Café du 1er Août in Muraz. It will be unveiled in the presence of President Pierre Berthod to demonstrate that this square is a truly vibrant and welcoming meeting place. Carole Pont from the Mijong office will speak about the work that has breathed new life into the café. The aperitif that follows is courtesy of the Muraz Development Society and Patrimoine Valais romand. A concert will then bring the heart of the neighbourhood to life.
