A musical journey through the ages, driven by the chemistry between two performers. Blending virtuosity, elegance and emotion, VOYAGE VIRTUOSE offers a musical experience rich in contrasts, where sounds echo and intertwine with finesse and intensity.
The VOYAGE VIRTUOSE concert offers a musical journey through the centuries, allowing the virtuosity of both instruments to unfold in all its forms.
The journey begins with Bach and his Inventions, gems of clarity and precision, in which counterpoint becomes a brilliant playground for the performers’ agility and rapport. It continues with Handel’s famous Passacaglia, which resonates with Baroque grandeur: a persistent theme which, variation after variation, becomes a veritable monument of sound. In Mozart’s hands, the musical exchange comes alive, combining grace and technical ease in a witty dialogue. With Glier’s 8 Pieces, the technical display is then imbued with gentleness and lyricism, each note revealing the finesse of the timbres and the subtlety of the dialogue. Sibelius’s Canon, for its part, displays a more inward-looking virtuosity, characterised by pinpoint precision and suspended atmospheres. Next comes Kodály’s Duo, Op. 7, which is known for setting the stage alight: folk rhythms, striking contrasts and dazzling passages follow one another in rapid succession, putting the musicians’ stamina and creativity to the test. Finally, Piazzolla’s Libertango brings this journey to a spectacular climax, where virtuosity becomes dance, passion and freedom, sealing the perfect union between technical mastery and emotional intensity.
