FRIDAY 8 MARCH - La vérité du Sol a film by François Legrand

Soil is one of humanity's greatest common denominators, guaranteeing our food supply and essential to our survival. Yet the degradation of fertile land is obvious, accelerated by a wholesale artificialisation that gives a market value to this vital and... under-valued, even forgotten heritage.

Driven by the desire to "give back to the soil what belongs to the soil", a small team based in Belgium set out to meet a series of soil messengers with complementary profiles: scientist, ecofeminist, agricultural engineer, market gardener, trainer, researcher... you name it! They all share the same question: what is the truth about soil?

From humus to death, the documentary looks at soil in all its complexity. In the nuances of its truths. In their own way, each messenger of the soil provides keys to how we can get closer to it, take care of it and give it the heritage value it deserves.

FRIDAY 15 MARCH - Soeurs de combat a film by Henri de Gerlache narrated by Cécile de France

In the wake of Greta Thunberg, a battle has been waged by young people over the last few months to save our planet. At the front of the marchers, on the front pages of the media and on social networks, young women have become, sometimes in spite of themselveś, the figureheads of this movement. Who are these women? Why are they so acclaimed and decried at the same time?

To better understand the commitment of Anuna and Adélaïde (Belgium), Luisa (Germany), Léna (France), Leah (Uganda) and Artemisa (Brazil), we decided́ to follow them, but also to cross their struggle with that of an extraordinary woman who preceded them: Julia Butterfly. 20 years ago, after living 738 days at the top of a majestic sequoia, this young American activist managed to save a thousand-year-old forest from being felled.

The film tells the story of these young committed women, each in their own way, but all driven by a unique energy, these "sisters in combat" share their doubts and desires. What emerges is a collective journey, like the roots of intertwined trees, driven by hope, commitment and an extraordinary ideal.
